Introduction

Russell WBHO has grown to become one of the North West’s largest and most successful construction firms. Since it was founded in 1997 it has grown from a small regional contractor to a multi-million pound business operating nationally.
Russell WBHO takes great pride in the high quality of service delivery and client satisfaction. Key to that success is developing close working relationships with clients and adding value to projects. The team can offer design, installation and project management of structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services.
The merger of two successful businesses – Manchester based Russells Construction and global construction giant WBHO – formed Russell WBHO in 2018, a landmark moment to support the growth ambitions of both companies.
Russells Construction was established by brothers Andrew and Gareth Russell, and has a corporate ethos based on teamwork, integrity and loyalty. The company started with external works and industrial property contracts before moving on to commercial office space, logistics, residential, retail and leisure. Russells Construction made a name for itself with further expertise in high rise development of constrained city centre sites, hotel development and student accommodation schemes.

Founded in South Africa, WBHO was first established in 1970 as Wilson-Holmes. Following a number of mergers in the subsequent four decades, the group WBHO construction emerged in 1996. WBHO is the largest construction company in South Africa and, together with its Australian subsidiary Pro Build, the group has one of the largest construction footprints in the southern hemisphere and an enviable global reputation, working on some of the world’s most high profile construction projects.
